Motobatt launches MFLEX+: modular lithium starter battery developed in the Netherlands

MotoPro, the official Motobatt importer for the Benelux since 2009, announces the launch of the brand-new Motobatt MFLEX+: patented lithium batteries that click together, suitable for a wide range of vehicles, from motorcycles, motocross bikes, quads, personal watercraft and snowmobiles to cars, boats and motorhomes. This Dutch invention is now available through MotoPro’s dealer network.
What makes MFLEX+ special is its modular construction. Multiple batteries of the same type can be connected in parallel, increasing both available capacity and cranking power. With just two base models, a battery configuration can therefore be assembled to suit the application, the available installation space and the required power.
Developed from the ground up
The Motobatt MFLEX+ was conceived and developed by Dutch entrepreneur, inventor and engineer Gerard Pronk, a long-standing Motobatt partner. Development began with the observation that the shape and construction of many lithium starter batteries were still largely based on traditional lead-acid batteries. According to Pronk, this meant that the full benefits of lithium technology were not being realised.
MFLEX+ was therefore designed from the ground up, with an emphasis on low weight, compact dimensions, high cranking power and maximum freedom in installation and configuration. A radically different design, setting a new standard for lithium starter batteries!
Two models, endless possibilities
The MFLEX+ range consists of two models: the MFX2.5 and the MFX5.0.
Thanks to the patented modular design, multiple batteries of the same type can be connected in parallel. Both capacity and available cranking power can therefore grow with the demands of the application. The same product range can be used for lightweight motorcycles as well as applications with higher power requirements, such as larger motorcycles, cars, boats and motorhomes.
The compact modules also offer considerable installation flexibility. They can be mounted in any orientation, with the positive and negative terminals positioned as required. The modules do not necessarily have to be installed together as a single block. For example, they can be distributed around the vehicle to improve weight distribution or make the best use of limited installation space.
This offers particular advantages in racing applications, custom builds and vehicles where a conventional battery housing is difficult to accommodate.
If more capacity or cranking power is needed later, additional modules of the same type can simply be added. Thanks to the modular construction, the battery configuration can also be adapted for a subsequent vehicle.

MFLEX+ batteries are remarkably small and light, yet powerful and technically advanced — with a unique concealed terminal design and advanced microchips that help protect the battery against deep discharge, overcharging, overvoltage and thermal overload, among other conditions. The result: powerful batteries that deliver faster starting and greater reliability, even under demanding conditions. In short, the most versatile and advanced lithium batteries ever.

Modules of the same type are connected in parallel to increase both capacity and cranking power. For example, a configuration with two MFX5.0 modules delivers a total capacity of 10 Ah and combined cranking power of 700 CA. With three modules, this increases to 15 Ah and 1050 CA.
Each battery comes with a complete installation kit consisting of top and side adapters, coupling adapters, connecting clips, bolts, rubber terminal covers, hook-and-loop strips and an Allen key. No special tools are therefore required for installation.
